Ahhh-chooo!

The Thomas household has been sick this past week. It started with Ellie on Sunday, and then everybody for different periods of time has come down with the flu. The sad part was that Ellie had to miss her school's spring concert on Wednesday, where all of the kids sang songs for the parents. On this coming Monday, Ellie's musical theater class is having a performance so we are all looking forward to that.

In other news Maile learned how to get out of her crib this week. She just feels that she is above sleeping in her crib and gets absolutely furious when we try to put her down in the crib. So in her rage she gets her leg over the crib and then hangs & drops herself down to the ground. No fear. So in response we decided to remove the front of the crib this weekend so it is more of a daybed now. So far Maile seems to like the daybed configuration, but getting her to sleep there will still be a challenge.

Friday was a big day for Nisa. Friday morning was her first day in the advanced gymnastics class and she did great! Then that Friday afternoon Roger & Mika went to her parent-teacher conference and of course she is doing wonderful there as well. One of Annisa's quotes that the teacher shared with us was, "All my thoughts are going to make a great book." :-)

We had an interesting moment with Ellie and her toothbrushing this weekend. Since her last trip to the dentist she received an hour glass to make sure she brushed her teeth for a full 2 minutes. Since that time Ellie has shown great initiative in brushing her teeth and making a routine of it. The other evening Ellie started brushing her teeth as she started the hourglass. Roger stepped away for about 20 seconds to check on the other girls and upon returning saw that the hourglass was done and Ellie had stopped brushing. In shock Roger asked her if the hourglass was broken and how it could have gone that quickly. Then Ellie explained her technique of letting the hourglass run until she felt she was finished brushing and then flipping the hour glass back over. :-|
