October 5, 2008

This week's highlights were a Yo-Yo Ma concert, Nisa's Open House and Ellie's first school fundraiser.

On Tuesday evening Grammie treated Roger and Mika to a Yo-Yo Ma concert in Eugene. It was a long drive from Portland, but well worth the trip. It is really is amazing to see him perform live. Special thanks to Kathy for the anniversary gift and Betsey for the eight-hour babysitting shift. :-)

Nisa's Open House was on Wednesday and we are very excited about her school and her teachers. The teachers have a great passion for the kids and it just seems like a wonderful school for Nisa.

Ellie had her first school fundraiser this week. Thanks for all of the great support on such short notice.

Now for a couple of Maile updates...
  • We have been trying to introduce Maile to her potty. Ironically, the only time she is willing to sit on the potty is when she has her diaper on. :-)
  • We have started giving Maile her first one-minute time-outs. We figure that she has had a long enough adjustment from Singapore to start receiving a bit of discipline. The two ways Maile earns her timeouts are for, 1) trying to climb out of her high chair and 2) belting out her piercing screams. :-0

Two other quick updates...

  • Nisa got her stitches out on Monday and was very brave.
  • Ellie started her Spanish class last week. She learned how to say, "Me llamo Ellie."
