Mika's Surprise Party

Last Friday was Mika's birthday, so we arranged a surprise birthday party at Rheinlander German Restaurant. Both family and friends made it out to celebrate the occasion. Go to Flickr to see some photos.

We have had lots of Halloween activities this week. Ellie didn't have school on Friday so Mika took the kids down to the pumpkin patch again. Saturday night was a Halloween party at our family's gym and then Sunday we cut the seeds out of our pumpkins. We'll be carving the faces in a couple days. This year, Ellie is dressing up like a princess, Nisa is Jasmine and Maile is Tinkerbell. We'll post some good Halloween photos next week.

Also, we have been preparing for Nisa's birthday. When we asked Nisa what she wanted to eat for her birthday dinner she said, "Chocolate pancakes and broccoli." :-)

Mika took Ellie shopping last week and Ellie insisted on getting an outfit that Mika just didn't like. Mika finally gave in and said Ellie could get the outfit since it was on sale. Mika continued to grumble afterward, while Ellie smiled and explained, "You have to understand Mom, this is my style."

In a major breakthrough last Sunday night Maile went pee in the toilet. We have to give full credit to Nisa for talking Maile into this. Nisa had been sitting on the potty for a good long while talking to Maile about the potty. The next thing you know, Nisa helped Maile take off her jammies and called Daddy in for the diaper. After the diaper was removed Maile sat on her potty and went pee! Woo-hoo!
