After getting back to our house from Hawaii at around 2am, we woke up to Maile's 3rd birthday. Auntie Mary, Amy, Laura and the cousins all stopped by for lunch and cake. Ellie & Nisa stayed home from school since they were still recovering from the flight and time changes. Maile had a great time at her party and she has mastered the art of eating all the frosting off of the cake without touching the cake.
That week continued to be a challenge with Mika having choir activities every night leading up to Easter. On Easter morning the girls were up bright and early to do the egg & scavenger hunts before church. Then after church we all met up for brunch at Grammie's house.
This past weekend was Ellie's big slumber/disco/fashion show party. She had six friends over and three of them spent the night. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the chaos was somewhat manageable.
Roger had set up a tarp in the downstairs basement so that the girls could have a pretend changing room to get ready for the fashion show. Then one by one, they did their walk on the pretend runway to some fun dance music that Mika picked out. Nisa was the M.C. for the fashion show calling out their names on the karaoke microphone. :-)
After the fashion show they had some pizza for dinner and then headed back downstairs for some karaoke singing. Taylor Swift and Hannah Montana were the most popular tracks. Then they had some birthday cake before heading down for a crazy dance party with disco & strobe lights adding to the atmosphere. Each of the girls were given boas and glow-in-the-dark bracelets for the party. By the end of the dance party their were boa feathers all over the floor.
Then to unwind, the girls watched the "Princess and the Frog" on the big screen. The girls fell asleep around 10:30pm and woke up to the smell of eggs, smoothies and Krispy Kreme donuts.
