Hard Knock Life

We made it through quite a memorable Mother's Day Weekend. To start with we had Maile's tonsillectomy on Wednesday morning. Doc & Gram had flown in the day before to help. Roger & Mika were a mess, but the doctors took great care of Maile. She was eating popcicles and drinking chocolate milk within a couple hours of waking up from surgery and we were allowed to return from the hospital that same day. We've had some tough nights, but overall Maile has been a great trooper. Special thanks to chocolate milk and GG's muffins for helping Maile get through her recovery.

After Maile's surgery, Ellie had her final two performances of Annie. Every time Ellie took the stage she got better. In Ellie's final performance she hit all of her dance moves and had this great scowl on her face during "Hard Knock Life" as she pounded her bucket and scrubbed the floor. Then for her Boylan sisters routine in "You're Never Fully Dressed without a Smile" she nailed all of her turns and kept a big smile on throughout the routine. The whole cast put on a great show and we are so proud of Ellie. It was a very memorable experience.

Not to forget Nisa, we'll end with a couple of her recent quotes.
- Nisa talking to herself started laughing and said, "Nisa, you're one of a kind."
- Mika was pushing Nisa to hurry into the car because they were running late to gymnastics. Nisa then stopped, pulled up her shirt and said, "Mom look! These are my ribs. Aren't I so smart?"
